Thank You For Making This Year’s Tour A Success

Over 400 people attended the tour this year. We want to thank each and every one of you for attending. And thank you for your patience.
We did not anticipate such an overwhelming interest and printed fewer tickets than we needed. We promise we’ll do better next year. We are so grateful that Moto has taken on the task of selling tickets for us. We hope you enjoyed the pre-tour event there on the night of the tour and will frequent the deli again.
We owe a big thanks to the band and string orchestras from Fresno High School. They are part of what makes our tour so special. The musical groups all received a small financial reward for participating. And, of course, the Student Senators from Fresno High. They are so important to our tour. The senior students from the Senate at Fresno High will get scholarships in the Spring as part of our gratitude for their participation. A special thanks to Kyra Orgill who trains and organizes the senators for our event.
Our group is instrumental in promoting the Fresno High community in several ways. We are responsible for the holiday decorations on the Van Ness and Weldon medians. We also contributed to the lights on the tree at Fresno High’s tree lighting this year. In October we sponsored a Fall/Halloween yard decorating contest and in April we will again sponsor a Spring front yard contest.
Our main objective is to support Fresno High students; consequently, we give scholarships to students in May for most Improved and most Artistic. We also gave funds to the school for Grad Night and bought a Prom bid for a student who could not afford it last year.
We are an all volunteer, non-profit organization made up of neighbors. Members of our group served as home chairs, docents, setup crews and a myriad of other chores. We want our organization to be an important part of promoting the uniqueness of our neighborhood. If you would like to join our group, simple send us an email at thefhshometour@gmail.com. We value your support and welcome any donations you would like to make to help us continue to shine a light on our incredibly special community. A sponsorship of $500 will support a student scholarship and any other donations will be used for the students, the school and the Fresno High community.
